Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 22 April, 2026.

Tunehood™ takes your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains what information Tunehood™ collects, why Tunehood™ collects it, how it is used, and what choices you have. It is written in plain English on purpose. If something doesn't make sense, reach out at tunehood.tampa@gmail.com. By checking the box indicating your agreement during registration, you acknowledge that you have read, understand, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy and the Terms. If you do not agree, you may not access or use the platform.

What Tunehood Collects

Tunehood collects only what it needs to make the platform work. When you create an account, Tunehood collects your name, email address, and mobile phone number. These are required to create and secure your account.

Age range and gender are optional and help Tunehood personalize your experience. If you choose to provide them, Tunehood collects your age range in five year increments and your gender. You are never required to provide either. Selecting "prefer not to say" is always an option for both.

Tunehood collects information about how you use the platform. This includes shows you save or star, filter settings and saved views you create, content you submit such as missing shows, artists, or venues, and your communication preferences.

Tunehood collects technical information automatically. When you use the platform, Tunehood automatically collects your IP address, device type, browser type, login timestamps, and a record of your agreement to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy at registration. This information is used for security, fraud prevention, and platform improvement.

If you connect a third-party music platform, Tunehood receives data from that connection. Currently Tunehood supports Spotify. When you connect your Spotify account, Tunehood receives all data that Spotify makes available to third-party platforms through its API, which may include your listening history, favorite artists, saved music, and music preferences. Additional third-party platform connections may be added in the future, including but not limited to Apple Music, Facebook, and Instagram. Tunehood will update this policy when new integrations become available. You can disconnect any third-party connection at any time through your account settings.

Tunehood collects your general location to show you relevant local music. In the current version of the platform, location is based on the city you provide during registration or in your account settings. In a future version, Tunehood will ask for permission to access your device's GPS location to provide more precise recommendations. GPS access is entirely optional. You can always provide your location manually instead. Tunehood will ask for your explicit permission before accessing GPS and you can withdraw that permission at any time through your device settings.

Tunehood does not collect your payment information. All payments are processed by trusted third-party providers including Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and PayPal. Tunehood never sees or stores your credit card or banking details.

Tunehood does not store passwords. Access to your account is provided through a one-time code sent to your email or mobile number. There is no password to steal.

Why Tunehood Collects It

Every piece of information Tunehood collects has a specific purpose.

Name, email, and phone number are used to create your account, verify your identity at login, send you transactional communications like login codes and account notices, and contact you if there is an issue with your account.

Age range and gender are used solely to improve music and show recommendations. They are never used for advertising targeting or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.

Platform usage data such as saved shows and filter settings are used to personalize your experience and remember your preferences between sessions.

Technical data such as IP address and login timestamps are used for security monitoring, fraud prevention, and to maintain records of Terms acceptance.

Third-party music platform data is used to power personalized show and artist recommendations based on your existing music preferences.

Location data is used to show you live music events happening near you and to ensure Tunehood's content is relevant to your area.

How Tunehood Uses Artificial Intelligence

Tunehood uses automated tools, including artificial intelligence, to enhance platform functionality and recommendations. To the extent personal data is processed through such tools, Tunehood implements reasonable measures to limit the use of personally identifiable information. Tunehood does not intentionally use personal data to train third-party artificial intelligence models.

Advertising and Marketing Communications

Tunehood may display advertising and sponsored content on the platform. Every ad placement is curated and controlled by Tunehood and is chosen for its relevance to the local music community. Advertisers never receive your personal information or contact you directly. When advertising is personalized it is based on anonymized preferences only. Advertisers see aggregated performance data, never anything that identifies you individually.

Tunehood does not currently use third-party tracking pixels or advertising networks that share your personal data with external advertisers. Tunehood may update its practices in the future and will revise this policy accordingly.

Tunehood may contact you directly with communications relevant to your local music scene. If you have opted in to marketing communications, Tunehood may send you show recommendations, artist alerts, platform updates, and occasional sponsored content from local venues and partners whose offerings are directly relevant to your music preferences. Every communication Tunehood sends is curated and controlled by Tunehood. No advertiser or third party ever contacts you directly or receives your personal information. You can update your communication preferences at any time through your account settings.

Who Tunehood Shares It With

Tunehood does not sell your personal information. Ever. Your name, email, phone number, and other personally identifying information are never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their marketing purposes.

Tunehood shares limited data with service providers who help run the platform. These include payment processors, email and SMS delivery providers, and analytics tools including Google Analytics. These providers are contractually required to use your data only to provide services to Tunehood and not for any other purpose.

Tunehood may share data if required by law. If Tunehood receives a valid legal request such as a court order or subpoena, Tunehood may be required to disclose certain information. Tunehood may notify you of any such request where permitted by law.

Tunehood may share data in connection with a business transaction. If Tunehood is sold, merged, or acquired, your data may be transferred to the new owner as part of that transaction. Tunehood will notify you before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

How Long Tunehood Keeps It

Tunehood retains personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. When you delete your account, Tunehood will remove most personal information within 30 days, subject to the limited retention described below.

Two minimal log entries are retained for five years after account deletion. These are not personal profiles. They are timestamped system records containing only your email address and IP address, retained solely for legal defense purposes:

  • A registration log recording your email address, the date you accepted Tunehood's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and the IP address of that acceptance.
  • A deletion log recording your email address, the date you requested account deletion, the IP address of that request, and your confirmation that you acknowledged Tunehood's Terms at the time of deletion.

These log entries are stored in a secure archive completely separate from the active platform. They are never used for marketing, advertising, or any platform purpose. They exist solely to document that you voluntarily created and deleted your account and agreed to Tunehood's Terms throughout.

Both log entries are permanently and irreversibly deleted after five years.

If you delete your account and return to Tunehood later, a completely fresh account will be created. Your previous preferences, saved shows, and usage history will not be restored. The two minimal log entries from your previous account remain in the archive until their five year deletion date and are never connected to your new account.

Your Rights Over Your Data

You have real control over your information, consistent with applicable privacy laws including the Florida Digital Bill of Rights. Here is what you can do at any time:

You will be asked to confirm your deletion request, which will include an acknowledgment of your previous agreement to Tunehood's Terms. Once confirmed, Tunehood will permanently delete almost all of your personal information within 30 days. Two minimal log entries containing only your email address and IP address are retained for five years for legal defense purposes as described above.
  • Opt out of marketing communications. To stop marketing emails, click the unsubscribe link in any marketing email from Tunehood. Email unsubscribe requests will be processed within 10 business days. To stop marketing text messages, reply STOP to any text message from Tunehood. Your Submitted Content

Content you submit to the platform may remain publicly available after account deletion. When you submit a show, artist, or venue to Tunehood, that content becomes part of the platform's public database. Deleting your account removes your personal information but does not automatically remove content you contributed to the platform. If you want specific submitted content removed, contact Tunehood at tunehood.tampa@gmail.com before deleting your account.
